But the annoying problem I’ve faced is you cant turn this upside down and rest on its top without first removing the RDA from on top, which means you have to hold this device all the time whilst filling – or remove the RDA. Setting up the app is fuss-free, like the mod! I needed to set up an account, as expected, and then I was able to pair my device with the app. This part was where I actually expected there to be hiccups, but to my delight there was none and it was very easy. It is pretty much like how you would pair most Bluetooth devices to your phone. This ‘ refined‘ version of the Pulse definitely has some improvements over its predecessors that brings it up to date with most of the other single battery squonk mods that have been released this year and overall it does a good job.

Everything about it just screams quality along with intelligent design. From the mod appearance, weight, finish, ease of use, and usability of an app (that actually works!) – it feels like almost everything was considered and thought out in the development of this mod. I highly, highly recommend this to vapers who would like to get into squonking, or even to seasoned vapers who are looking for a less chunky squonker for being out-and-about. For the price of this mod compared to competitors plus what the mod offers the vaper, the choice of this as a starter squonker is a no-brainer! The screen and its UI is probably one of the best I have seen out there, even at the time of this review. Screen brightness can be adjusted, and even if not in full, the screen is easily visible even in low light conditions or bright sunlight. It displays the usual but useful vaping data like battery level (although not as a numerical percentage), resistance, puff timer and counter, and an icon indicating that it is linked to your phone once you have paired the mod (more on that below!). Ooohh no question, a solid YAY for me! As I said in my intro, there are only a few tried and tested regulated squonk mods in the market, and my experience of using the Pulse II has just re-affirmed why this is one of those trusted devices. This squonk mod also has a type-c charging port for fast and efficient recharging. It is made from a high quality, lightweight nylon material which gives it a robust, yet stylish build and makes it easy to take you on the go. Alongside this, there are many design elements that make it simple and easy to use. Not only can you squonk, obviously, but the Aegis can be turned into a ‘normal’ vape mod by switching out what they call the Skeleton. It’s basically just a replacement grip but it comes in handy. Up top is a smart looking 510 base with some nice design engraved into it. But its at the base where I had to spend a little more time. The Vandy Vape Pulse V2 has pretty much every mode we see on mods these days. It’s the same set up as their Swell mod. You have Power mode (watts) with preheat options, Voltage mode, Bypass mode, and Temp control mode for Ni200, Ti, and SS. No TCR mode but the TCR is adjustable in each of the preset modes. If you use the app you can also set preheats up to do watt curves as well, but the app isn’t very user friendly overall. But it works well enough and we’ll go over that more later. 6. Dovpo Topside SQ (Best Mech Squonk Mod)

One small complaint is that the bottle seems a bit small in its compartment, which gives a bit of a strange squonk sensation. You have to press more deeply than on most boxes, but you get used to it and this disadvantage is forgotten. The Druga isn’t as tall as the Tsunami 24, which it replaces, and puts out massively HUGE plumes on VG.

I had to run the Tsunami wide open which seemed about right to be fair but left no room for further options or eventualities.

The Topside Dual uses a massive 10ml squonk bottle. This is the largest among squonk mods and allow you to refill and forget for much longer than with any other mod. For it’s superb performance, easy top-filling and massive squonk bottle the Topside Dual stands tall as one of the best squonk mods available. On the bottom of the bottle is a tiny round threaded cap, similar to the battery door. You can remove this cap while the bottle is still inserted into the mod, or remove it and then fill it. Once removed, the bottle self seals the nozzle so there’s no chance of it leaking when turned upside down. This lets you easily refill it without making a mess. You can also unthread the top cap of the bottle and refill it from there. The 510 connector is traditionally spring-loaded. It is firmly attached to the box by three screws. The connector is well-designed and seems solid. Many of the best and most popular RDA’s have bottom feed pins either included or available, which means they can be used with squonk mods.The next part is update here you can update the firmware via your phone, you can also change the UI but at present there is nothing to update or change.
